Decision Making - the preschool is run by elected committee, which ensures that major decision making is in the hands of the parents who use the preschool. The committee is responsible for view both policy and practice, and for the employment and appraisal of staff, in conjunction with the supervisor. The Annual General Meeting, at which the committee for the following year is elected, is held in September or October and parents will be informed in good time so that they can attend.

The Role of Parents

The Preschool Learning Alliance recognises parents as the first and most important educators of their young children. Our preschool aims to support parents. Parents are welcomed
To work in the group with the children
To assist with fundraising
To take part in management of the preschool
To take part in all Preschool Learning Alliance activities, meetings, training, workshops and conferences.

Fund Raising

Raising additional funds for the preschool is a necessity to meet our high standards of provision in Modbury. Although we do get a grant for each child at the preschool, this in no way covers the ongoing costs of running the preschool. Therefore without additional fundraising there simply would be no preschool in Modbury. We need support from everyone to keep viable preschool running.
