On Illness
Parents are asked:
To keep their children at home if they have an infection.
To inform the preschool as to the nature of the infection so the preschool can alert other parents, and make careful observations of any child who seems unwell.
Not to bring into the preschool any child who has been vomiting of has had diarrhoea until at least 24 hours has elapsed since the last attack.
On Starting Preschool
The First Days - a child who is tense or unhappy will not be able to play or learn properly, so it is important for parents and preschool staff to work together to help the child feel confident and secure in the group. This takes longer for some children than others and parents should not feel worried if their child takes a while settle.
On Clothes
In order to feel free to explore and experiment with all kids of materials, including messy ones, it is best to send children dressed in clothes, which are easily washable and not too new.
It is good for children to practise the skills that will make them independent. Simple clothing which they can handle themselves will enable themselves will enable them to go to the toilet when they want to and to put on and take off their outdoor clothes without being too dependent on other people’s help. For those children attending the Wednesday session a large bag with basic PE clothes - any t-shirt, shorts and a change of shoes.
It is requested that all your child’s outdoor clothes, jumpers and cardigans are named.
